Summary:

Meeting minutes are formal, authoritative accounts of offcial meetings of government bodies such as agencies, boards, commissions, councils or directorates.  They are designed to capture critical outcomes of formal minutes, including resolutions and motions passed as well as the essence of debates.  This session covers what public servants need to know about recording meeting minutes -- how to prepare to take minutes, what and how to record during formal meetings and the process of turning good minutes into accurate accounts of meeting outcomes.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for government employees who are new to the task of taking minutes, those who currently take minutes but would like to know more about the process of taking minutes, and those with significant minute-taking experience who would like to brush up on their skills. It is designed for anyone with responsibility for taking official minutes at formal meetings. Individuals seeking instruction on how to write meeting notes are advised to take the following webinar: How to Take Excellent Meeting Notes in Government (see schedule).
